Val and John Jackson (Ozzie and Jacko) were both students at Rowlinson in the early(ish) 1950s Val (nee Osborn) attended from 1954 to 56 and John from 1953 to 1958.
Val and John made a trip to the UK in December 2001 and were able to meet up with other Old Rowlies at Derrick (Josh) White's house in Sheffield. Thanks to Mick Cahill for taking and sending the photos via Derrick.

Sheffield Reunion 2001

Derrick (Josh) White writes...
In 1952 we spent our first year at Carfield then transferred to Rowlinson when the builing was completed in 1953 - the last week before the summer holiday. So come September 1953 we were then in the second year.

Due to the web pages I discovered that John Jackson had married Val Osborne and emigrated to Canada in 1965 and was now trying to trace me. The last time I saw John was at his 21st birthday party in 1962. John and Val were planning to come to Sheffield for Christmas 2001, so having rediscovered one another I attempted to trace other school pals and organise a re-union. Unfortunately some people had already committed themselves but I managed to organise a mini re-union at my home.

Geoff Shepherd, Brian Wildgoose, Alan Hinchcliffe, John and Val Jackson and myself ( Derrick White aka Josh ) had a lovely evening on Friday 21st December. Frank Kurley and his wife were intending to come but a sudden snow storm gave concern and Frank decided not to risk travelling. One of the pictures is of John Jackson in his friend's kitchen with his breakfast bowl, the other is of John with Geoff Shepherd in the middle and Brian Wildgoose to the right. These three guys were excellent footballers and Goeff was probably discussing some aspect of a game of football when the photograph was taken.
