Val and John Jackson (Ozzie and Jacko) were both students at Rowlinson in the early(ish) 1950s Val (nee Osborn) attended from 1954 to 56 and John from 1953 to 1958. Not only have they been able to unearth a magnificent series of photograhs chronicling the 1958 school trip to Paris, but have also been brave enough to offer photographs of their courtship, marriage and as they are today, living in Canada.

I dug out (says John Jackson) these pics from a Rowlinson trip to Paris in 57. Most of the group are from the 4th 5th and upper 5th. The first three I had enlarged some years ago and will be usable. The rest that follow I took from my album which are of typical "Brownie" contact prints and I don't think you could use, but here they are anyway. The good news is that I still have the negatives which I will have printed after Xmas and forwarded on to you. They show the whole group on departure and a few informal shots below the "Awful" Tower and around Momatre. The place where we stayed was called Jouse en Jose just outside Paris. In the photos I refer to "The Boys". I think the film "West Side Story" had just been released and it had a marked effect on the "Imaging" of the 4th formers as can be seen on the cool but tough expressions.
